Gil Lavi is an internationally renowned photographer & brand imagery consultant.
Lavi began his communications career at the age of 14. By the time he was 16, Lavi had become the youngest reporter & photographer for Ma'ariv daily newspaper. Lavi’s success in his work for Ma'ariv led him to a position as a photo editor of several newspapers & professional magazines. During his time in the Israeli Army, Lavi served as a photographer for the Ground Forces Command. Later he became the head of the Still Photography Department, holding responsibility for the photo coverage of the army’s VIP foreign delegations & other IDF international activities.
Lavi was born into the world of photography: His father, Moshe Lavi, a brilliant photographer since 1966, was a mentor for several world class photographers. Together, Moshe & Gil hold more than 50 years of knowledge and experience in the area of professional photography.
In 2009 Lavi was rated by the Forbes magazine as one of 300 most influential Israelis under 40. Lavi has been called a “top photographer” by Channel 10, a “huge talent” by Ma’ariv, and “an expert photographer in the area of political portraits” by Ynet.
Later this year Lavi is planning to exhibit some of his latest personal photo stories: Soldiers in White, LunaTech, Alternative Valentines, Hazy Shade of a bride, Revival & City of war.
